Default Need CRX b info please

Ok folks its been a really long time since ive been here due to being insanely busy with my other car. (Integra that runs 7.7 in the 1/8 DD) Ive gotten tired of the teg so its crunch time for the REX. THe rex is gona be a streetable drag car that is fully stripped for weight savings and function.

Heres my question. I read somewhere that a VSS out of a normal hydro obd1 transmission will slip right into place in my cable b16 tranny? Is this true? So far this seems to be my only real hang up. Im installing an entire obd1 harness into the CRX including the engine harness and cabin harness. You may be wondering why I would do this right... well because im very familiar with the OBD1 harness and its quirks, and I have it all laying around the shop here. SO why not, all the propper plugs are the for the ecu and distributor so there will be no need to buy any conversion harness. I will be using a gauge cluster out of a obd1 gsr too.

as far as the speed sensor working, yea it will go into the transmission. you just need to run the wires from the speed sensor to the back of the guage cluster obviously. just out of curiosity though. why would you try to put in a complete obd1 harness that wasn't meant for that car or am i just interpreting what you said wrong? why not just use the connectors from your obd1 harness and modify your factory ef harness so it will connect correctly to an obd1 ecu.

by trying to use a complete obd1 body harness in your crx, you are gonna have to find out which wire from every connector on the obd1 harness goes to in relation to where every wire in the obd0 harness goes to. also you are gonna have to change out a lot of connectors from your obd0 harness to the obd1 harness because they are not interchangeable.

like i said maybe, i misinterpreted what you were saying but if not, you are gonna be wasting a lot of time trying to make the obd 1 harness work in your car, rather than just converting the connectors at the ecu on your obd0 harness to obd1. that is what i did on my crx without an adapter harness and it was very easy.

also just convert your factory engine harness to obd1 also. that way everything lines up where it is supposed to in coalition with everything in your engine bay.

The OP's harness swap is going to be WAY too much work for what it's worth.

Just do the nessessary conversion to swap the motor to run on 0BD1 and leave
it at that. Doing what you are talking about is pointless and a nightmare.

Ok I understand what a "nightmare" this seems like but im pretty wiring savvy. I have also made my own minimalistic obd1 engine harness out of an old obd1 vtec harness.

Heres what im working with.

obd1 engine harness
obd1 chassis harness including both fuse boxes
obd1 ls vtec c1
p72 ecu
GSR gauge cluster
integra wiper/signal assembly
91 CRX completely stripped to a shell and suspension.

I figure since I have all theese things how hard can it be to make the car work properly? Its gotta be like having a complete CRX/Integra. One of the other reasons im going this route is so I have the reliability of a newer harness and plugs.

I also plan for this car to have a complete tuck in the engine bay and a false wall in the cabin to protect and cover all the wiring and the brake lines and proportioning valve that I moved into the cabin.
