Default exhaust back pressure, good or bad.

I tried search but it wasn't working. I want to make a e-cutout for my civic but Im not sure where to put it. before or after the cat? and how will it affect my engine when open in either
place? not looking for performance gains just want to be loud some times. and its a stock d16y8.

has anyone done this to this engine before, if so what is your opinion?

purpose of a cut out is to bypass the exhaust to get the car breathin better and get some power the sohc motors make no power with no exhuast

but you would want to put it before your cat

I heard that it could burn up the exhaust valves is this true? I think it will be fun if it worked? and I found that alot of people have done this but no one has said anything about the wear on the engine if any?

it will go before the cat right after the downpipe, and no it will do no harm to the valves. my friend has a 2000 Si and has ran open header on it for 3 years and it has no problems and my little d15b7 ran 7 months and no problems. and if ur not always gonna have it cutout and only when u want it loud then your good. i want one for when i wake up in the morning for work i wake all my neighbors up 5:45 in the morning lol.

Good luck man,
