To my understanding, turbo applications are still rather difficult to tune at this point.

And allegedly if you have the comptech installed at an Acura dealership, you're covered under warranty.

Can someone confirm this? Why Acura and not a Honda dealership?

It should not matter whether it is a Honda or Acura dealership.

In years past Comptech worked closely with Honda to develop their S/C kits and as long as you left it as it came and didn't up the boost or anything like that, your warranty was still good. I have not heard if that still stands with the new division formed under CT Engineering.

TURBO!....You can use the AEM Fuel ignition controller to do your tuning or the Greddy emanage ultimate. With proper tuning you can achieve higher power with a turbo. I'm not sure but I think with the s/c you can get much more than 250 to 280 wheel horse power. As long as you have a good tuner 300 to the wheels is no problem with a turbo. I'm at 5.5 psi on my ajp turbo with 300whp. I can run more but don't need to since were rolling into Winter and can't get traction in second gear any way. It was a little pricey but don't regret it at all

what do you mean "some internals"? Yes you can go over 300 easily with the turbo, but I didn't think it was real easy with a s/c

It's a lil more difficult to get more out of a S/C. Meaning what you get out of the box is pretty much what you got. Internal's won't really make a difference because its not like you can just crank up to the boost and make more power like a turbo kit. Reason why alot of people build there motors for turbo is to run more boost/timing/fuel. On S/C's in order to gain just a lil more boost involves changing out pulleys n belts. Which can cost hundreds of dollars depending on the kit and resulting in minimal gains. Vs. a turbo kit where you can buy a $30 boost controller and crank it up as high as you want(with proper tuning of course).

To OP, I think you should think about your power goals and what exactly you want to build the car for whether it be drag racing, autox or just daily spirited driving. If you want to make the most power possible and have a setup flexible enough to make more down the road after you build the motor, I would say turbokit. If you're going to take it to the drag strip, deffinatly turbo kit.

I just want a little more HP and a bit of fun. thats why i am leaning towards a S/C now cause i mean i still need intake headers and catback.. turbo kit all i need is catback. the car is a everyday driver and i dont really take it to the track i want something reliable and quick.

Comptech went out of business I don't think the OEM warranty deal still applies.

No they didn't. The split into two divisions. CT-Engineering is now the parts division and Comptech remains and is dedicated to racing.

Neither, without a good ems this will significantly shorten the life of you motor. You should wait until hondata releases the dual ecu for our cars. This engines can make serious power with a good ems, give it some time.
