Need to know bout Throttle Cable Tighting?
my cable is loose and i can tell cause my throttle doesnt come back all tthe way and i have a cruise control like sympton. it wont stop reving. it maintains where ever i have it.. i know its cause the cable is to loose. i alreay figured that out.. how do i tighten it?
you mean once you press on the gas pedal and let go it won't return to normal position ?? Um... that would not indicate the cable being loose.
if it WAS loose, you wouldn't be hitting WOT.

well there is a lot of slack in it.. my friend tighten it one time for me and it was ok.. but it was raining and i was moving through traffic so i pressed the gas and it did the whole .. drop shift crap.. were it feels like it is winding up.. and i had to hit the brakes hard.. cause the fool in front of me switched like four lanes... anyways.. the next time i hit the gas it wouldnt slow down it was frozen so to say. i pulled over and looked and there was slack.. i figured when i hit the brakes and revved at the same time.. it got caught and pulled to much or didnt let it go back.. anyways there is slack out the butt.. you can almost tie a knot
There are two nuts tightened together near the bracket on the intake manifold. Break those loose and back the one farthest from the bracket out of the way.
Tighten/loosen the other nut until you get the desired play in the pedal. Lock the other nut against it to keep it from moving.
I loosend both nuts all the way out and moved the inner nut in until the throttle body showed it was opening and then back off a hair.
