How about you just keep the motor you have now? What is wrong with it?

just get another B18a or b, or rebuild the one you have. The B17 fits, but it's pointless if it's auromatic. Plus, you'd need to get an automatic VTEC ecu. It's be like putting lip stick on a pig man

Just swap your motor for another non vtec motor.

if you must keep the auto tranny, getting a vtec engine is pointless cuz the auto won't let you use the rpm range where vtec matters. do you just not want to pay for a 5 speed or do you just like autos? if you have to keep the auto i'd say either rebuild what you have or swap in a b20.

no i don't mind a 5 speed to be honest i'd rather have it, but i just bought an auto because my gears were slipping and i already had it put in, so thats the problem.... i can drive a 5 speed just fine but i already bought the auto and it's installed

If your sticking with your stock trans don't go vtec. B16's are slow as hell on a LS trans. I suggest a B18B or a B20Z.

yeah but with the auto i think the b20 would be better than buying another b18 for the extra bottom end torque since he won't be seeing the higher rpms anyway
