Why aren't H22s that good? They're harder to swap, but give you more NA power than a B series.

I believe that stock for stock, a 22 head with a 23 block would give you about 200HP.

"mumble, mumble, mumble. Jarbil, jarbil, jarbil." That's all I really got from that. But I'm pretty good at deciphering jiberish so let me take a stab at what you were trying to say.

You assume we think H22's are not a good motor but you want to get one anyways. You are pointing out that the H22 has 200hp. And an H23 only has 160hp. But you want to know about making a H22/H23 frankenstein engine, correct?

If built right it can make a good powerplant. The only real reason for doing the H23 block it to get better torque than the H22 makes because of the bigger displacement. As far as how mouch power will you make total, that will depend on how you build it.

h22's are fast but yes they are harder to swap. but if you are even going to do a h series swap do a h22 not 23. to me there is no point to have a h23 block and a h22 head. although it would kinda be funny

the power of an h series is by far greater than any b series -

if i could do the honda thing again i would go with an h series - more power than a b series and cheaper than a k series.

You can just swap the rotating assembly from a h23 to the h22 block..... the block is the same except oil passages for vtec....and there is nothing wrong with the h22 im currently building a crower 2.5 h22 to replace my h22/h23 frank. Also to top it off to the guy that said good luck turboing it... i have been turbo for 3 years on the swap and have had no real issues due to it being a H just regular turbo mishaps.... H series is the poor mans K in my opinon!!!

No big deal thats why we are here to learn right sorry i didnt go into detail about it earlier!!!

Its actually a drag racing tranny with straight cut gears which allows for clutchless shifts and makes it alot stronger than any fatory tranny...(Im talking about the internal parts as you would use your h22 housing and case) most of the time its only first through fourth gear but some may have a overdrive.... not sure. But by using a custom "dog box" tranny can set your own gear ratios if the manufacturer will alow you too and dont really have to worry about breaking gears or synchros... usually when here on honda tech you will hear people talking about liberty transmissions this company was one of the pioneers in the racing tranny world for honda... hope this helps

PS... This is baller status parts we are talking about a cheap dogbox will run you about 4 grand but worth every penny if you wanna make power..
