My guess is...the sound you are experiencing is wheel hop.

*nevermind...just read that you said it wasn't hopping*

no it was more of a breaking sound like an axle snap but i checked underneath the car and nothing seemed to be broken or out of place but somebody had told me to check all my mounts and suspension bolts to make sure nothing is loose so thats what im going to do thanks

i just chk for any service bullentins and i found none i would suggest to bring it to a local dealer n chk it out.its under warrany so it should be no charge. i work at a dealer new york. if there a problem they see it should be covered. just dont tell them you are banging gear when it happens. make up something so they dont give you b/s for beating on the car. is the car modded at all that it will void your warranty??

yes its just severe wheel hop. mostly when shifting hard into second. heard on many Si's. i think it comes from the upper ps mount. with the flex may contact body frame and make noise

What are you doing redline clutching on customer's cars? Remind me not to go to your dealership.

IDK if this helps, but i was having similar problems with my 08 FA5. I took it to the dealer and we did a test drive on which I was able to replicate the issue for the tech. He took it for the day and he ended up loosening the subframe and suspension components, aligning everything, and re-torquing everything to factory specs. Since he did that, I haven't heard the banging/clanking (for lack of better words) since. PM me if you want more info.
