My advice would be if you're ever planning to do an engine swap, do it at the same time, theres a lot of duplicate labor. If you can do the work yourself and find a cheap parts car you can do the swap pretty cheap.

That's parts and labor. With just parts, if you did it yourself, you could do it for well south of $1000, probably more like $600.

My bmw was automatic and I had it swapped out for a 5 speed tranny, it cost me 1,700.00 bucks and that includeds labor. Then I sold my auto trans for 300.00 bucks. So it brought the total cost down to 1,400.00. I figure a honda would be cheaper.........

It's basicly just tranny, flywheel, clutch, clutch pedal/master/slave cylinder, linkage, mod the ECU and wiring that runs to the shifter location, right? I'm probably doing this on a friends car, and I'm figuring it won't be too horribly much. He's footing the bill though, and we have ties to a guy that works at the junkyard.

more or less, don't forget the mounts as well. Be aware that all 3 pedals are different, and the manual throttle cable is different as well.
