Default Oil issue with pan gasket and exh ports

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
Ok so heres the problem ive been having. first off the oil pan gasket will not seal no matter what I do to it. I also had a small overheating problem where it would only do it once every week and go upto like 220 at the most for a second then go back down to normal. so i looked into it and came to find that it was the HG slightly leaking a tiny *** little bit to where the leak down test only had 1% leak on all 4 cyl and on each one it would bubble once every few seconds in the radiator go figure right. and so i started taking the turbo off to change the HG and foud a little bit of oil in each exh port and there was also a tiny bit of oil on the plug tips. my question is could all this oil leaking be because of the bad HG? i thought maybe rings but with only 1% leak and 180psi on all four for a motor with 3000 miles i couldn't see it being them. plus the things pulls great and drive great even when i took it to the track no smoking or A/F problems.
my setup is as follows..

-ITR head & Benson 84mm block (both straight)
-Wiseco IB spec pistons
-endyne breather kit
-greddy kit @ 16lbs
-3" elbow back

when i got the head off the walls looked great, i don't have a problem with spending the money on new rings just to have a piece of mind but don't want to risk the new ones not seating at 1% because the walls are not 100% new like when i broke the engine in. any thoughts would be great.
-thanks alot
todd

are you running head studs?
the head could be lifting to make that 1% leakdown a bigger problem
as far as the oil pan...
are you sure that your not over trq-ing them?
that is the most common mistake that i see
has happened to me in the past...

yea im running ARP studs it lifted a little because when i put it together i used oil as lube cause i didn't have ARP lube and torqued them to factory specs :x oopse.

i don't think that im over torquing the pan gasket cause im using a torque wrench. are there any tips or tricks that seem to work? im not using any kind of RTV because when i first tore the car down from stock there wasn't any on there so i figured you don't need any

but do you think the HG leaking could get oil into the exh ports though?
