Default EG door locks only lock when doors close?

I have a 92 eg with manual door locks but my locks only lock with my doors are closed and i think its putting strain on my aftermarket actuators and blowning fuses for my alarm system.
Should it be doing this?

I also have manual door locks and they wont lock if the door isnt closed. I think its supposed to be like that from the factory to prevent u locking the car unwillingly

Honda built the driver door to only lock when the interior door handle is held open and the inside lock is pressed. Or the door is closed and locked from the outside with a key. It was done to help keep you from locking your keys in the car but for me it became second nature to lock it when getting out that I have locked my keys in the car

Oh so its only the driver door and you can lock it if you open the door handle eh? Hrmmm. Probably not a good habit to pick up though as it may increase the risk of locking the keys inside. Though that is second nature to make sure b4 closing the door that I have it.

Though its got a good use if you dont want to drive in a shady place with the doors unlockedd. Will keep this in mind, thanks.
