is this injector trash?
sorry I dont have a pic right now, but I think the description is simple enough.
I got a set of inj from a junker d16a6
one of the injectors has a piece broken out of the material surrounding the nozzle.
the housing is fine as far as I can see, it is just the ?plastic? shoulder at the end
I have the piece that broke off, I suppose I could jbweld it back if it needs to be there
but it seems to be uninvolved in the nozzle and just a surrounding wall
Am I correct?

you can buy those new i believe. i have had sets of injectors without and with the caps and its never affected performance. i think its just so condensation and other garbage stay out of the injectors path. pintle caps are what they are called i believe.

The pintle cap is to protect the injector needle from damage
if the injector is dropped when removed from the intake..
I have at least one like that in my engine with no adverse effects..
