Rotors are warped. Should change the pads too while you're at it.

From my experience, when the car shakes it's usually the rears that are warped. If steering wheel shakes then it's probably the fronts.

shaking when braking could also be that the tires are unbalanced.

u need a brake job. Unbalanced tires would shake at highspeed. Warped rotors shake while braking.

Also check the wheels. Aftermarket or OEM? Also wheel balance. If it's aftermarket, does the wheel have lug nut cover? Was the wheel balance WITH the cover on?

I know you mentioned while braking, but sometime that only shows when there is load, such as braking.

wheel balance/alignment will NOT cause a vibration while braking...im 99% sure it's your rotors

I'll agree with you. My reply was based on my own experience back in 97 with my brand new Civic. I went cheap and got a set of used aftermarket wheels. I had the tire shop check everything. And there were no solutions.

There was vibration when I go over 80mph and when braking. Never had problems with OEM.

Got a new set of wheels, and no vibration. So there must be something wrong with the wheels. One, all four, don't know. So just want to throw it out there since the car is old, the wheels might be "old" too.
