Default manual tensioner question

Is this the correct tensioner?

http://cgi.ebay.ca/PRELUDE-H22-H23-F...3286.m20.l1116

What is the part number for it if anybody knows? I want to finish buying all my motor parts today so i no longer need to think about this crap lol.

If you do a seach, someone posted all the parts. I'd personally only go OEM on the parts. Honda did update the auto-tensioner if you didn't know. I just did mine and used their new one.

The manual tensioner conversion consists of many parts. Look at this diy/guide:
http://www.collectiveracing.net/crfo...ner-conversion

ImportRP.com sells all the oem parts you need together, for less than if you bought them separately (less than even Majestic).

Putting the belt on with the manual tensioner in an H22 is a total pita (total pita). I'd either get a new auto-tensioner or do this:

While the manual tensioner might be a little tight to get the belt on I do not recommend using a new auto tensioner.

I have a friend that used mild cams and replaced all auto tensioner parts with new OEM components and after 40 K the tensioner's internal spring popped and stranded us 100 miles from home and bent his valves to add insult to injury.

Manual tensioner or a ghetto manual adjustable or none at all IMO.

omg.... i think i just made the biggest noob mistake. With a kaizenspeed balance shaft kit do i no longer need a tensioner? Pirate you said none at all, so i am assuming that is when the balance shaft is deleted, correct? If that is the case and the balance shaft is deleted don't i still need the part i posted though?

The timing belt and balancer belt tensioner are two separate parts. You need both, if you're not using the balancer shafts, just reuse the H22 tensioner and stick a washer between the two tensioners to provide adequate clearance.

Gotcha, thanks. Any specific size for a washer? width?

Doesn't matter too much, one that's just thick enough to clear the balancer tensioner from the timing belt tensioner.
