Ive got a major electrical issue and i need somebody to trace a ground wire for me and try to give me some direction as to where it goes. I think i located my problem, i have a ground wire, i believe in all the wiring skematics i looked at they call it the steering column gorund, but i could be wrong. Just below the column, or its possibly attached to the column i have a ground wire that was cut and i cannot find where it supposed to go! Its right below the steering wheel under the dash and is screwed into either the steering column or a metal brace bar that runs alongside the column. Anybody that knows how to read a wiring diagram or can give me some direction as to what connector or component this wire came from it would really help me out. Or if anyone that has a teg that can take a look under there dash to see if they have the same ground wire. I have a 1990 GS.

hmm just to name a few, horn, hi beams, lo beams, brake lights, tail lights, turn signals, hazards, radio, ect. Your probably the 5th person who has suggested that. I am not trying to find where to ground it to, im trying to find what the wire is supposed to be grounding. It its already attached the the chassis as if it were grounding something but the wire is cut. I need to find the component(s) its supposed to be gorunding.

^^ True i dont think anyone is actually fully reading this...
THE WIRE IS CONNECTED TO THE CHASSIS ALREADY. iT HAS BEEN CUT, SO I DONT KNOW WHAT COMPONENT ITS SUPPOSED TO GROUND.
it is black, like a normal ground. It is connected to the steering column, or a brace near the column by a philips head bolts.
I dont need someone to try and figure out the problem. I need someone with a DA to look under there dash and see if they have the same ground and see where it goes. Thats all i want....

I dont have a good camera or else i would. If somebody could post a pic that would be great. I can try to take a pic with my phone but i dont know how well it will turn out.
just checked my DA. I have a black ground wire on the radio side of the column(right side). This wire is connected to a flat peice of steel on the side of the column. From there it goes directly into my wire harness loom/wrapping. The harness is attached to the side of the radio cage. This wire only looks to be about 5-6 inches long from the 10mm bolt to the end that goes into the harness. let me know what you find. Mine is a 91 Ls.
