Introduction: New Forum Sponsor
Hello Type-R forum!
We became a sponsor the same day that everything got changed around... But we're hoping that some of you are still here in the Type-R section! haha.
Since this is the forum that we're now "sponsoring" I thought I'd post up an introduction.
National Speed is a fairly new shop located at 6779 Gordon Road in Wilmington, NC. We provide service, parts and tuning for a wide range of vehicles such as imports, trucks, street rods, domestics, race cars, etc.
Our shop is equipped with a well stocked retail showroom, a lounge area, AWD dyno room, and three service bays.
In the retail area we carry a wide range of parts from turbochargers to coilovers and everything in-between. Any part that isn't in stock is usually just a couple business days away, so if you need it and we don't have it, WE'LL GET IT!
Our tuners and technicians have a lot of experience with Hondas (which is one reason we decided to sponsor the boards) On a daily basis we tune cars on everything from VAFC's to full standalones like AEM and MoTec. Our tuners also have a lot of experience with Hondata, k-pro, and Crome.
For more information about our facility, please check out our website: National Speed
Also make sure to check out our new online store at National Speed E-Store
Thanks again for having us here on Honda-Tech, and if you've got any questions or comments please post or shoot me a PM.
Also, a few members of honda-tech are employees here at the shop, including Go-Fight-Kill, TurboCiv910, Carolina Fried Rice, and Ben-NSI. So if you ever need any help don't hesitate to contact them as well!
Here are a couple pictures of the shop!

Thanks for looking!

Nice place!!!!
Best of luck.
You don't have to answer this and I'm not starting anything, but in these VERY difficult economic times, given the success rate of these types of shops/ businesses, what speciality or business model will allow you to prosper when other shops have closed or failed in short order.
I'm really interested in your business plan (but, I'll understand if it's private).
JW- who sees a ton of start-up capital into your project and really hopes it works out for you.
Good luck with the new venture. :beer x10:

Thanks, I'm guessing you recognize them from somewhere?
Well if you ever need anything check out our online store or give us a call!
I cannot share our business plan, or any information of that kind with people outside of the company.
This isn't the first start-up for those involved in the company... And surprisingly some of our busiest days so far have come after the crash of this economy.

I should have phrased this better.
My question (should have been), what inspired you and your team to open a shop when most of the economy is shrinking and people are not opening businesses.
I know my racing sponsors are all in a "wait and see" mode going into 2009. Thankfully, they're all back for 09, but they have all reduced their sponsorship budgets due to the current econ situation.
Your new business is refreshing in this day and age. :-)
Cheers!
BTW- drop the ACT stuff and sign-up with Exedy! ;-P

^Well, we've been open since Feburary, and the shop had been in the making for quite some time before that, and the economy was in a little better shape back then than it is now ha :/
Sorry to hear about the sponsor troubles, I know that many businesses are having difficulties right now and it kills us to see smaller shops in NC and around the country go out of business... Not to mention the troubles that some of the major companies have been going through.
And as far as the clutches go, we do carry exedy in shop and in the online store

I didn't even check your site. I (***)umed just from the photos you folks were ACT 'only'. I suck! ;-P.
Again, best of luck with the business.
Wish we hadn't of gotten in right before the 'Big Switch'.
Haha, I work there duder.
And for the record, we picked the displays up from Ride Revolution after they decided to close their doors. Good eyes Aqua.
