Default Own a DC sports header?? then i have a q for U

ok i searched this, have posted it before and either the right people aren't looking at my link or i have just had some badluck with the autoparts stores.
Ok, i have a dc sports 4-1 headers, the donut where the cat meets up looks horrible and needs to be replaced. DC sports says to use an oem donut gasket, but after purchasing the small little red gasket, it doesn't even fit onto the header, either the autoparts store is mistaken, or dc sports just doesn't know, has anyone replaced this donut gasket before? i was even allowed to dig through all makes and models of donut gaskets in autozone and couldn't find a match, whats up with this? help someone.

i wouldnt go to an autoparts store for an aftermarket header they aren't going to know what to do. i would go to an exhaust shop they will have a donut gasket that fits.

what car is this on? most of the headers i've seen use the GSR donut, perhaps ask to see a GSR manifold to cat gasket. see if that's the one.

not sure what size collector, but dc sports says a oem donut will fit, i have a 95 gsr, and it doesn't but then i got to noticing some other stuff, my car came with the header on it, and then my friend has a 98 gsr, same jdm b18c motor, and he has a dc 4-1 header to, but his header tucks under the motor alot better and it a little longer, but mine doesn't tuck as close to the oil pan and doesn't reach back as far as it needs to- hence the reason i had to have someone extend my exhuast so that the cat would reach the header, almost a 4inch difference, so whomever bought the header for the car, maybe bought it for a different motor, b16, b20, not sure which one uses a deeper shorter header, but either way the donut i need is like 1 inch thick, the one they gave me at autozone is literally like a big key ring, its like 1/8" thick, so i'm just out of luck i guess...

yes thanks for the diagram, but i know what part it is, i have already bought it and brought it back, it was a completely different style and too small to even fit onto the header. DC sports says its the same as the OEM ring, but when i purchased the OEM ring , its a world of difference, so either the autoparts store completely gave me the wrong parts or there is another problem.

ok the first picture is one like autozone gave me, as the oem part, the second picture is one just like the one currently on my header that i want to replace, see the difference?

ya you just got the wrong part from Autozone. They gave you the header gasket where the 2 pieces are bolted together.

You just need to go back and get the right gasket. Tell them its the gasket that goes on the end of the exhaust manifold and before the catalytic converter.

Go to Advance Auto Parts or you could go back to Autozone and ask for Part # 60669

That should be the gasket. Just open it at the store to make sure.

have you tried buying an oem one? sounds like that's what dc is calling for.

first measure the collector opening, then go to somewhere other than autozone like kragen or napa(where they know what youre talking about...) and ask them to look through their "donut" flanges. i found one that fit my jdm 4-1 for something like $2.

I went throught the same problem as you man and neither acura or autozone is going to help you out... I bought a new cat and it came with the "o-ring" style gasket pictured above... then i ordered an oem one from acura #19 in the diagram above and that too did not fit properly so all in all I have no idea how to help you :/

I had a Dc sports 4-2-1 on my 96 gsr, i had to get a new donut gasket. Go to ACURA dealership/parts and buy a OEM donut gasket. Nothing fits like oem, i got one and it worked fine.

I picked up an OEM donut from the dealership. Fit my DC 4-2-1 header perfect.
