Default its not that hard to replace

if you had a shop do it $600
a mobile mechanic from craigslist.com $250-$300
you should replace/upgrade the clutch disc, pressure plate, pilot bearing, through out bearing and researface the fly wheel or replace with lightend flywheel for $100-$150.
exceedy has always made great parts or more serious cars should get ACT clutchs. good luck

I don't think anyone can accurately give you an estimate of time you "have left" with your current throwout bearing. I would just get it replaced ASAP.

my throwout has been making noise for like 6 months now. but my buddy's went out after like 2 days of making noise... so you cant really get a estimate. haha. but if you got the time then get on it right away. i shoudl take my own advice.

If its making noise in 1st, 2nd and 3rd then you have 23days, 7hours, 14min left in the T/O bearing then......BOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

mine's been making noise every time you release the clutch for about a year now.. and my clutch just shat on me a couple days ago (car starts to engage while clutch is still in, can't get it to switch gears) so now I'm screwed.... so I learned an important lesson here, GET IT FIXED!!

not trying to thread jack, but i'm having similar problems. mine wasn't so bad until lately, whenever my motor revs up while driving, the noise gets louder with the rpms. if i push in the clutch, it doesn't make any noise at all. everybody said it's the throwout bearing so i'm just double checking with you guys as to what it is. am i leaning more towards it being really bad now? thanks a lot guys

Throwout bearings make noise when the clutch pedal is being pressed down if they are bad. Clutch discs & pressure plates make noise in neutral when the clutch pedal is not being pressed if they are bad. Either way, time to pull the trans & do a clutch job. If there's still noise after that, then the trans is going away..

lol, where are you located? The other dudes pricing up top was pretty close to a usual but for a honda TOB I don't believe any shop would try to charge you 600$.

whenever i replace a clutch or anything that involves the tranny i always replace the counter shaft and input shaft bearings. they seem to go bad often with higher mileage cars. would definately recommend being mechanically inclined to tackle the job tho.

The holder spring for the throw out baring can also be bad and allowing the baring to touch the pressure plate when in gear.
