car dies when i start it up then runs fine after
ok stupid thread title lo,l i didnt know what to put.
but i swapped in a h22 into my 4th gen. this is my problem i have, no idea what it is.
when i start my car up when its cold outside, it will die once no matter what. and then after that ill start it again and ill try to rev it up, it wont even rev it will just die. but if i let it warm up without touching the gas or anything for a few minutes its totally fine. what the heck is it?
its not a totally big problem but when it dies in front of people its kinda embarrassing haha, you know what i mean.

mine does the same...i bet u all have cold air intakes right????...ive assumed its just that the air is to cold when u first start the car to even run...because it doesnt do this if i remove my cold air intake
i thought it might be my fuel filter or something. it would make sense if it just couldnt start or rev properly until dirty petrol sitting in there was used up. but i havnt gotten round to replacing it yet

Fixed mine. It was the temp. sensor making the car run rich til it was warm. You guys should check it out(under the dizzy, 2 wire plug). If thats not it then I would try the main relay, tps, iacv, etc...
Ignition coil 99.9%. That was my exact symptoms. Your run winding in your coil pack could be the culprit. Swap with a known good ignition coil pack and I bet your problem dissapears.
Its not the main relay, I gaurentee that.
Its not the CAI either. The metal intake does condinsate in the cold but it would just make your car bog a bit if it had excess moisture in the intake. You think about it, even after you add gas by pressing the pedal needless to say you have air, and you have gas, so whats left that could be causing the car to not fire? Spark!!

my cam shaft broke... so i got a second hand one and now it seems to start fine all the time. apaarently it mustve been a bit off for a while which somehow stoppd it from starting properly
I had the same problem. Are you guys throwing a CEL?
Check your IAT, IAB, and PSP sensors, clean the connections.
I cleaned mine out and its been fine since.
