Default 8ohm kicker question

okay i got 2 15" old school kicker comp vr (the ones that have the K in the middle) that is 8ohm and there is only one terminal so i cant lower it. so if i wire both of them up would they be 16 ohms right? what kind of amp can power this the right way. i have a alpine mrv 1002 DC straight 2/1 channel amp and i just bridged it to power these and its bumping hard but i dont want to damage the subs or amp, is this okay?

(2) 8ohm subs wired in parallel(look it up) will be a 4ohm load. I think RMS power is 300watts each. Your amp is 600watts RMS bridged at 4ohm load. So they should be a good match.

The model number of the subs would help to determine the correct power needs and to make sure they're 8ohm SVC subs.

As mentioned wire the subs in parallel for a 4 ohm load, [wired in series would be 16 ohms] I am pretty sure Kicker CompVR 15", [C15VR] are 500W continuous and the SVC ones, [old school] are 8 ohm.
Although a good amp the Alpine MRV-1002 is underpowered, [for 2 C15VRs] 1x400W RMS into 4 ohms @12V, [1x600W @14.4V].

The amp will drive the subs without any problems, however it will not drive the subs to to their full potential and you do run the risk of damaging the subs VCs if you over-drive the amp into continuous clipping.

If you can keep from "cranking" up the volume you will have no problems, if your a "ground pounder" find a 1x1000W RMS into 4 ohms amp.94

Dang, i don't know, whats messed up is i worked at a kicker dealer back in 01 and we had them and i can't remember. but really i want to say they are less than 500w rms because the 15" xpl's (which are a step above the cvr's and a step below the round solo's) are 350w rms each, i'm pretty sure. So based on that i'm betting they are around 250-300w rms each.

Are we talking older then 02... http://www.kicker.com/06/tech-suppor...mpVRManual.pdf

Maybe the Comp VR D-series, [C15D]... http://www.kicker.com/06/tech-suppor...ls/CVRdMan.pdf

It's always better to be overpowered then underpowered, you do not have to turn the amps gain up, the JL Audio 1000/1 would work great
