How to install ipod interface?
I have a 2007 Civic LX and I want to install a Metra Ipod Adapter, seen here:

I have a few questions. First off, would that plug fit into the back of the civic radio? Second, does anyone have instructions on removing that panel so that I can access the back of the radio?
I know there's an auxiliary input but that adapter allows me to charge and play the ipod through the same cord.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks.

That white connector looks the same as the one on my Honda Music Link connector, and if it is, it will plug into the back of the OEM head unit. There is one connector on the back of the head unit that is not used unless one installs the Music Link (or, in your case, an aftermarket Ipod adapter with the proper connector).
First, remove the panel under the steering wheel. It's only attached by white clips; therefore, pull evenly and firmly along its edges to remove it.
When you remove that one, you'll have to remove the panel that surrounds the gauge cluster. Look on the bottom left to see one screw which holds that in place. The rest of attachment points are more white clips. Once you remove the screw, then all you need to do is evenly and firmly pull the edges to remove that panel. When you get it loose, you'll have to disconnect any OEM connectors attached to the back of it (like for the dimmer controls). I recommend covering your steering wheel and column with a towel before removing it. Also, telescope the steering column all the way out and lower it all the way down to give you the most room to remove the panel.
After that, you can focus on the head unit panel. You'll have to remove the cover under the head unit and near the AUX adapter. Inside, there are two bolts with 8mm heads. You'll have to contort your head to see them. I suggest doing a search for audio head unit removal and find some pictures or something so you can better understand where they are.
Once you remove those, the head unit panel can be removed by pulling evenly and firmly along the sides (left first, then bottom). I recommend covering the top and right edges of the dash where it meets the head unit panel with masking tape to avoid scratching it when you pull the head unit panel off. That goes for the gauge cluster panel as well. Can't be too careful.
Aside from the screws, the head unit panel is held in place by six or seven white (plastic) clips and six metal clips. Careful with the metal clips because they often come off the panel when you pull it out. Remove the OEM connectors when you loosen it.
Just some tips.
