Charging System
Hey Guys,
I have a 1997 Honda Accord SE and my battery light came on. I check the positive and negative cables on the battery and everything looked fine. According to the manual, it said that my charging system is not charging the battery. Does that mean my alternator is going bad or already gone bad. If so, where is the alternator located and how difficult will it do to change?
Thanks,
Ren

Before you run amok, borrow a multimeter / set the volt range on 20 and with the engine running sample between the two battery terminals.
If it reads between 13.8 and 14.2 volts, your alternator is working fine.
If it stays around 11.5 to 12.0, your alternator most likely toast
Here's some help:

It's located under the power steering pump and above the a/c compresor.
THAT"S why i suggested checking it first.
