id try differnt angles with the pictures, there kinda boring/routine, bring a step ladder with you and you can get some good angles from the car up high, for samples see my sig for link to some of my pics
overall the exopsure's were good but the composition is lacking, and the in car shots with the dash just look to snap shot looking, why didnt you do some rolling shots?

My photography is mainly nature backdrop based, if nature is boring to you then thats you. BTW do you know where I can get the Nikon remote control, to snap pics without pressing the button by hand?
i said nothing about saying nature photography is boring....
what kind of nikon do you have? if its a prosumer model (d40/d60/) then it probably uses a IR remote which you can get on ebay for like 2bux
