Default Double dash gauge cluster on the civics

What do you guys think about the seperate gauge clusters on the civics?

I like it, I can see the mph in the corner of my eye while driving, and the rpm gauge is big and more independent. I'd have to admit its kinda weird looking if your not the driver.

Can you just switch guages between the si and regular civics if you want the different color? like plug in and go?

i like it..i wasnt sure about the digital speedo but i got used to it very quickly and i like it..im not sure about the plug and play since the si's redline at 8200 so im not sure if it would work the same but like just go up to the non-si model's redline..(whatever it is im not even sure)..and the rest of the gauge be useless if that makes sense??

one thing i really like about the civic is the shift light; it's nice not having to look way the **** down to check the rpm when driving fast. my eyes barely move off the road when shifting at redline.

I don't think yours ever did that lol. You are probably just mistaken. My has blinked red since the first time I went to redline. The Type R's shift light is somewhat similar to what you described though. It has a digital bar (kinda like our fuel or temp gauge) that lights up in amber (or yellow) as you approach redline, and then turns red (and I think it blinks) when you reach redline.

i like how the tach illuminates at different rates. like when you put the key in, it looks like its waking up and asking you to start it up..... idk, its just cool to me.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I though that was the coolest damn thing when I drove one!

i think they are interchangeable between the si and the regular models, but if u put a regular model civic cluster in an si, you would most likely be reving farther than the tach displays (knowing that some people go past 8k when they floor it). also if u have the reflash, good luck finding 8600 on the standard cluster lol i heard somethin before about if the tach isnt connected right then vtec wont work?? cuz it was like that on previous dohc vtec hondas

Another Problem the VSS signal from the clusters might be different.

I'll never understand people that try to make their Si look like a regular civic.

it was never like that on any honda, not sure what you're talking about. people rev past what their factory tach has on 92-00 civics without any issues (other than the obvious one of not knowing their rpm). the tach has nothing to do with vtec engagement.
