Default Check Engine light not coming on??? (not bulb or cluster)

Ok so i bought a 93 civic dx for a nice daily 2 weeks ago, and since then i installed a mini me swap. But i noticed that the check engine light does not come on at all when turning on the ingnition to light up all the dash lights... I switched bulbs and also clusters so the problem has to be somewhere else. Anyone have any guesses? could this be the ecu or a wiring problem??
Car runs fine but i need to know if im throwing any cells.

The car runs or i wouldnt have asked the question, what i am asking is what can i look for to find out what the problem is. i want to make sure my new swap is not throwing any cells.
This is not a stupid question. Obviously something is causing the engine light to not come on.

check wiring from ecu pin A13(check engine light) Blu/wht to the cluster.

Also, if it's got a chipped ecu, make sure the cel/mil is not disabled.

i should have said may i ask a stupid question. your question was not the stupid one. sorry if i came off as a little brash.
i was asking if it ran because if the grounds on the t stat housing arent hooked up, your ecu may not power up thats all. i was not trying to be a smart ***.

LOL its all good. Thats why i dont bash people on the internet, its easy for someone else to misunderstand what you mean sometimes. Anyways I found it that it was the ECU.
Someone that had the swap before me toasted the ecu. Guess im in the market for a p28.
Thanks guys
