Default <<Brakes problem>>

Well this morning i went to Wendy's and while i was in the drive thru my brake pedal got so hard that i couldn't push it in. So i try to drive forward and it felt like i had the hand brake so i had to stay there for like 20 minutes could that be the caliper or my drum brakes?

pull the rear drums and "brake clean" them real good, they could be hung up or the wheel cylinders in the back could be froze.

put the hand brake down........duh. lol......just kidding. i've never had this happen before so maybe try what z6hatchboy suggested. the only thing i've had close to happening like this is when my car sat for a couple of years with the lid to my master cylinder off and i got a bunch of dirt/debris in my brake lines. all i could really do was open my bleeder valves and push really hard on my pedal until the pressure pushed out everything. maybe it's just a sign to do a rear disk brake conversion, haha. good luck man. i hope you get it figured out.

Your vacuum assist system could be malfunctioning. Check your brake booster vacuum line. Then check your brake booster via the helm's or other manual. Maybe the booster is having issues.

Without vacuum it will go stiff like bserious said, but since they came back i figured wheel cylinder. You could try the check valve too at the booster

Or a piston is seizing in your master cylinder. Or a piston is seizing in your caliper or wheel cylinder. The defective vacuum booster makes sense too.

Sounds like either the pushrod from the pedal to the master cylinder is adjusted improperly, or there is some sort of problem with the vacuum booster.
