what kinda rattle is it? does it sound like a grinding...or like a baby's rattle toy? maybe the person before you bought it tried to roll back the miles...and he broke a piece in the gauge cluster...u can tell by looking at the millage if the number doesnt posistion properly. then he broke a piece on the cluster. if its a grinding sound then its your speedo cable...just go get another 1 from the dealer...it should be 2 pieces...but figure out what the sound is first.

I had the same kind of problem in supra. it was just the speedo cable. might be the same thing in yours. does the sound get louder or speed up when you accelerate?

yeh it dont make the raddle when its siting at idle. just when i get going. i just turn the radio up. but i can still hear it. and it drives me nuts. so a new speedo cable should fix it?

and about the miles, the car has 243k on it. but its damn nice for the mileage. and the guy i bought it from is orginal owner and is a huge dork. highly doubt he even knows how to change a light bulb. lol.

What I did was find out where the speedo cable is disconnected it. drove around and the sound went away. so i just put back on. Didn't bother fixing it cause my car was so loud it didn't bother me.

but find out where yours is and do that. disconnect and drive see if the sound goes away if it does, then replace it.
