price on a headgasket itself is less than $100, its the labor that places charge to do it that adds on so much money to the bill.
Leakdown requires an air supply from a compressor

so just saying that i do have to replace my head gasket does anyone have any ball park figures that i would be looking at for price wise and what else would i need to replace so that something else doesnt wear out quick?
so yesterday i had my brother rev up my motor while i looked at it and the smoke is white, but i look in my radiator and it is still full of antifreeze and another thing it doesnt run hot at all it is below the middle by like 2 little tics, so is that still my head gasket or what? i am so confused and i do burn oil like 1-2 quarts per oil change
now tell me this what all will i have to do whenever i change the piston rings or have them changed should i say, will i have to replace like everything else and pretty much rebuild my motor completely or can i replace my piston rings and valve seals or what would you reccommend?
well, Im just saying, you may have to. But from what your saying thats what it sounds like. Look at it like this, if you're going to change your head gasket, the pistons are right there in front of you. So it wouldn't hurt to maybe change the piston rings, just for peace of mind atleast. Just take off the oil pan, pop em right out from under neath. You may need a friend to help you. Maybe change the water pump and timing belt also if you want to go all out.
