4th gen or 3rd?
if its 3G, S is lighter, non ABS with smaller brakes and the B20A3 dual carbed single cam engine, 13" wheels stock and a transmission with longer gears and a longer FD
Si is larger brakes, sometimes ABS sometimes not, B20A5 EFI dual cam 15" blades, and shorter gearing
interiors are the same, exterior is the same

lol. F motors have been shown to be able to have great output, but only a handful of honda-tech car owners do builds (with any series motor) that will make that possible with F series. A guy that's asking the difference between an S and Si is most likely not going to go farther than ihe.
i just recently bought a 4th gen S as a DD while mt 5th gen is in the garage for winter. I thought it was an SI at first. It had power windows a/c cruise all the good features (except power locks) it also has the si wheels on it. I bought the car quickly becuase it was only $1500 and in really good shape. It has plunty of power to get around town, the f22 is a good motor the gears are a little different then i normally like but its good for a Daily. The h23 is a better base motor to work with. Depending on what your looking to do id go for an SI. Besides, the cars are cheep enought now anyway just a matter of finding one that is still in good shape. GL!

I have had all 3 engines in my prelude at one point. They all have their goods/bads. IMO if i could pick the best parts it would be the h23 tranny, f22 bottom end, and the h22 top end. ('09 Winter Project). You will notice the h23/h22 get a lot more aftermarket support then any f22. They all have great FI potential dependant on the tune of course. My DD f22 has over 380,000 miles on it. Good luck with your choice.

i would love to see was Bisi could do with an H22..
I'm going to say to the OP it depends on what you are looking for, more power, go with Si, mileage, S would prob be a little better than Si, building a project, it all depends on what you are after, basically you can build any motor that woudl come in it, but you may do a head swap with one over another..
