Icon6 A little help w/ wheel bearings...

Im putting ARP extended wheel studs in my hatch, and i already have the rears done. but for the front i decided to pound out the spindles/bearings so i could put the wheel studs in befor i go to a shop to get new bearings and have them pressed in. well this is what i have now...

as you can see parts of the wheel bearing are still on each part...
my question is, can these peices of the old bearing be removed easily with a press? or any ideas? im tryin to stay away from buying new spindles. thanks

lol, those will come off with a press for a joke, either that or a bearing puller. No worries man, seriously, you don't have to buy new spindles.

When i removed my spindles for bearing replacement, I just brought the new studs with me and before the guy put in the new bearing he installed the studs free. They are so easy to install they prob won't charge you. So if you didn't do the other one yet, just leave it. Too much work, when you see the press remove that in a second you'll see its not worth your time!

the part in the spindle gets pressed out. The part stuck on the hub I cut with a dremel and then used a chisel to crack it to get it off

ooh i'm looking forward to this again. How many tons do you think would be sufficient to press out those wheel bearings?

do i have to do that too or can a shop do it for me?

on my back spindles w/ the new studs i put little tack welds on the back of each one... did they do that for you? and how much was it?

one more question... do i have to replace the ring clips? the one from this hub got just a little tweaked removing it

I did everything. I guess you can have a shop do it they probably have the tools the proper hub press and sleeve. tools from honda to use on the press cost over $100 and one of the parts is discontinued now. I would replace the ring clip, just order 2 new ones they arent expensive
