Icon3 Poor mans LoJack = Zoom Bak

Saw a commercial for a new company selling personal GPS for cars, and pets. Its only cost $199.99 for the gps and $9.99 a month or $144 for year subscription
Its last about an 5 days on the battery

It also has text message alerts for the safety zone you can set

What do you guys think about it?

ummmmmm $10 a month for 12 months = $120, vs. $144 for a year???? wtf is that all about?

Where care u gonna put a GPS unit where a theif isn't going to find it, but its easily accessible for you to change the batteries every week?

Sounds like an excellent and cheap idea if u can hide it well. And I think re-chargable batteries would be friendly as well

it charges on 12vdc so why not splice in the charger to a live wire from the battery? you can keep it hidden and charged all the time

$144 a year for unlimited use

And I was thinking the same in wiring it directly into the power of the car

meh, just change the batteries when it gets stolen :D

yeah, i'd hardwire the charger and mount the unit behind the glovebox or something where it won't be SUPER easily found

and the ability for me to track it, as opposed to a cop hearing a beep if he's within X distance is much better in my book, you can pack a few friends and find it yourself

Seems like a good idea. Its rediculous that they don't just build these kind of features into cars in the first place.

Theyve been hitting TV with a Super Commercial Campaign this week.....I just saw it......electronic leash for all!!! I feel sorry for todays kids......All it means is they will be 10x worse when them go to college!

Great idea for the car.......Imagine the future with it, cheaper/better.....we may have a shot at keeping our Hondas from getting jacked!!!! YEAH!!!!
