Ideas for $1000 budget suspension build
Im a noob when it comes to suspension work. I have never worked much on one and I want to build the suspension on my 98 ex up. This is my Daily and I doubt that it will ever see the track. Id like to autocross but the chances of that are slim. I live in torrance and I dont know of anything thats close. I just want to drop about 1.5-2 inches, stiffen up the body, get rid of body roll on turns. Im thinking about sway bars, strut braces, lowering springs and new shocks, maybe bushings. Is there anything else I would need and be able to stay within my budget? I dont mind going over a little is its worth it. Any tips/ideas? Anyone build up the suspension on their car for about that much? Likes? Dislikes? Anything they would do different?
I just bought Koni Yellows and H&R race springs for around $700 total. Add in some type R swaybars and you'll be at around a grand and your car will handle like mad. Strut braces aren't really necessary for mainly street driving. Maybe splurge on an ASR brace for the rear because of the sway bar.
oh yea listen to slammedexv i have a ASR subframe brace and 24 mm sway bar with new oem front sway bar and tokico shocks with tein springs for about a total of 700ish bucks and the results were extatic. I drive a del sol by the way, only thing is i have a little too much over steer but that is due to bad trailing arm bushings. which is another thing make sure your bushings are in good condition and no need to get hard race bushings or nothing just get good old fashion high quality oem bushings.
I'll be sure to post up my thoughts when its all on, it seems not many people have the H&R race springs. I had them on my Mustang and love the ride and handling.
