105k mi. Tune-up on '04 Accord V6
I'm taking my car in on Monday for the 105k mile tune up. I had a local dealer quote me $1329. The shop I normally get major work done at (the guy specializes in Honda/Acuras) will do it for $1200. I'm getting the timing belt & water pump replaced as part of the service. Are these prices in the right ballpark? Thanks!
Seems about right for a stealership to do it. I had the timing belt and water pump done by a private shop for 550.00. The rest of the "tune up" is very easily done so I did it the rest myself. Saves a lot of money. Parts for plugs, filters, and even brakes was under 250.00. so it was 800 for me to have half done by a shop and the rest done by me.
The shop I used the guy who owns it used to work at a big Honda Stealership in PA so I trust his work. Don't think I would have just had that job done just anyhwere. If they mess up and the belt breaks then the engine can be ruined.

car tune up might have an estimated repair or replacement time of four hours in the shop manual. This time is calculated using the shop hourly rate {i.e., 4 x $60}. Pretty straight forward right? Not all the time.
