The Stakes:
Every entry will require a $5 entrance fee paid via Paypal. Winners will be determined by popular vote with an official poll at the conclusion of the competition.

The Prizes:
3rd Place - $5 and 3 stickers from http://www.GoFastTshirts.com

2nd Place - $10, 3 stickers from http://www.GoFastTshirts.com and a T-shirt from http://www.weaksauce.org

1st Place - $$$ - Total sum of all entrance fees*, 3 stickers from http://www.GoFastTshirts.com, a T-shirt from http://www.weaksauce.org and an Antagonistic Front 275 T-shirt

The more people that enter, the bigger the prize!

*(minus $15 for 2nd/3rd place, minus standard Paypal fees which is about $0.30 on $5 ------$47.29 Final Amount)

The Purpose:
To promote traffic and participation in the Paint and Body Forum and to build a tech base with knowledgeable people.

The RULES:
These are the rules for the competition. Please note first and foremost, these are RULES, not just guidelines. Entries will be disqualified if the do not abide by the rules listed here. Please IM/PM me with any questions.

1) Absolutely no powder coating, no anodizing, no dipping (chrome, gold, copper, etc) will be permitted. All VCs must be done in paint.

2) You must provide a minimum of three (3) pictures of your process.

(a) A "before" picture. Simple, a picture before any sanding, stripping, shaving, etc. begins.

(b) A "during" picture. This can be a picture of any part of the process. More than one of this process is encouraged, but not required.

(c) A "complete" picture. This is a picture of your final product. Again, more than one of this process is encouraged, but not required. Please notify me of exactly which picture you choose for your official entry. This is the one that will be posted for polling purposes. A quality camera/picture can certainly improve your odds. I realize more than one picture may be necessary to capture the different aspects of the VC (i.e. shading, metallics in the sun, etc.). The VC does not have to be on the motor in your pic.

3) You must provide a list of materials you used: sand paper, paint stripper, primer, paint, clear, tape, etc. A picture would be nice, but not required.

Post here in this thread with your pictures and materials list and I will add the info to this post.

4) Entrance fees: I will maintain a list of people who have paid their entrance fee here. When you have Paypal'd me your $5, I will add you to this list.

Paypal your $5 here: asimoisking@yahoo.com
You must include your screen name in the notes/additional info section! If you do not include your screen name I will consider it a gift!

5) VCs you've done prior to this competition are not admissible.

6) VCs are welcome from any make/model, but after all this is Honda-Tech, so naturally we would prefer it be Honda/Acura.

Dates of Competition:

Begins: 8-7-2008
Ends: November 15, 2008 (11-15-2008) (NEW, extended deadline)
All pictures must be submitted and entrance fees paid before 11-15-08. On or after that date I will start the official polling process.

Official Entries:

1) toyomatt84
2) Chris.
3) jvtec95
4) csubucky19
5) JKGONZALEZ3
6) gringotegra
7) sleepingciv
8) Psychoteen101
9) adio3x

Im done!!! Finished it later last night, no point in hiding it and saving it till tomorrow so here are the pictures of the painting process and finished shots..

Finished product.

Just gonna explain everything a little bit. Everything was hand drawn and hand painted, all lettering and designs. No previous pieces were re drawn and no stencils were used. All original design and hand sketching/painting/pin striping. Turned out exactly as i wanted it to. If some didnt notice the minor details, other than the flames, those are little pieces of rice flying out of the turbo...

If that blue D-series VC wins, I'm outta here..
It looked like there would be more participants, I guess many are talkers but not all are doers..
Many nice VCs here though

It's cool enough, and it might be the end-all be-all verdict to that less is more is the way to go. I just don't think it's fair running it alongside those people with countless hours of work into their covers. I like the idea with the water, but you could probably mistake it for lots of overspray and orange peel.
