Default P28 or Hondata?

hi guys my plan was to just do a chipped P28 from Kenji, but some people have been telling me to keep my gsr and get a Hondata stage 2, i know the hondata is better, but i'm not gonna do to much more to my car and i'd rather save some cash if i can. Is it that much better to run the hondata? all opinions welcome. TIA

if all u got for mods is what i see below, u dont even need a new ecu...u only need it for forced induction or when u mod internals like new cams and compression and wat not.

all i can say is get hondata, because you can change alot of things depending on what your set up is. Also because you can always upgrade.

ITR ECU weon't work on an OBD 1 car.

Hondata stage 2 isn't all that exspensive and would be a great choice.

Not sure why Low suggested it wasn't worth it. We tuned a Civic SI with just an AEM/JDM 4-1/Greddy Evo and got 12 whp 6 ft lbs of tq peak and almost as much in the midrange. Plus the power now goes 200 RPMS deeper before drop off.

I woudl think even just a nVAFC would be a good choice but Hondata is MUCH nicer.

true, i do have a Vafc right now. i know getting the hondata would be better than a chipped ecu. i guess it's a dumb question since the hondata is better, i just want to know if its bad to run a chipped ecu and if its that much better to where i should drop the cash on it.

well
i suggested against hondata for him because of his mods, if he runs a vafc and chipped ecu, with his mods it should be fine, it wouldn't make a huge differences, im not completely against hondata,..as a matter of fact i'm running 2b on my car. i just dont think it's worth the extra money for him stage 2 = 295 + tuning time. with vafc and chipped p28, if he knows what he's doing or has friends they can help him, with hondata stage 2 u need a person with stage 4 or 4b to tune it. and on the ITR ecu, my bad i didnt' notice his car was a 95.

VAFC = $300
P28 = $150
Chipping = $? $100?

Total = $550

Hondata on P72 Stage 2 = $300. Seems liek an easy choice to me. Sell the VAFC for $250 and pay $50 for a hondata.

That is how I was looking at it. He should have $200 ish to pay for tuning plus less downtime.

I was thinking the same thing, which would be better to get. But I went with the P28 chipped and VAFC setup. I still got my GSR ECU, and i'm planning on getting that one chipped by hondata. I jsut gotta see my outcome with the P28 first. If I don't like it ASAP i'm swapping in the Hondata one.....
