at first: excause me but my english is not so good...
my friend got a b16a2 with itr head in his sol. he wont to buy some pistons of a b16b. is this possible or will he get any problems??
he just think about, if its better to use aftermarket pistons or b16b? what du u think?

 

can it be done yes it can be done

but if he want a sleeper b16 then put a ls crank and rods in it with some custom piston (ericks racing sell the pistons to do it link to ericks racing custom pistons)

 

ls crank and rods? na you would need custom rods also. but if your lookin for some pistons try some type r replicas made my rsmachines

 

why would you need custom rods?

you just need custom pistons

 

he wont have any issues with the ctr pistons in it and plus depending on the year of the head its gona run like a b16b i wanna say 01 itr had the same specs as a b16b cams wise.. and i dig the site about the ls in a b16 me and my buddy thought about that would be way fun

 

i did that to a b16 just look into tuning it cause they dont last long on stock ecu. My brothers detenated easy with stock ecu and finally spun a rod bearing. My engine i tuned it and lasted still running today. I put ther engine in a 00 si and made it fast, but i would rather have a N2O kit. i thought a 50 shot felt better than the pistons and safer.

 

i had 2 buddies running this setup and both had no problems
both were mildly tuned just to make sure A/F was okay
they just had some knock going up hill/under load. Other than that they were okay.
both ran probably 30k miles now or so? and still running no problems.

They made about 145-150whp on their b16 with pct pistons and itr cams. I'm in Canada i think about 2500ft above sea level so kinda high so that might be different for you in terms of tuning as well.
