Default bolt on stock h23 oil cooler

what is the nut size for the bolt that holds the stock oil cooler to the block??
is the one under the oil filter. is on a h23a1

It doesn't mention what thread size the bolt is in the service manual. Why do you need to know?

He doesn't mean thread, he wants to know what size socket to use to remove it. Anyway, I wanna say 30 or 32, but I haven't got it in front of me so I'm not sure

its one of the 2 for sure. I don't have mine in front of me either lol.


I just searched and its a 30mm. I got mine from Sears.... it was like $10-11
and i've only used it once.

If ur replacing the oil cooler o-ring I'd also get a tube of gasket maker/sealant. I put 3 little dots in a triangular shape on the o-ring in order to get it to stay in place. I was trying without it for almost 30 minutes before i decided to use my head.

thanks this helps alot, I need to replace the seal and took two trips to the store to get sockets first one was too big(1-1/4) then went again to excange for a (1-1/8) now too small then just gave up and ran out of time for the day, thanks alot

go to sears....and get the right size. It would've saved u a trip :D
