Default Crankcase Pressure logs

I thought this was interesting. On the hot rod and pro cars we always ran dry sump systems and I never saw one that pulled a vacuum on a high boost turbo motor, much less got down to atmospheric pressure in the crankcase. We'd usually see 1.5-5psi crankcase pressure. I setup a map sensor on the crankcase on my car to see how effective our catch can really is at big power, I think it's safe to say it's sufficient!

I put it on the back of the block, where the 1/8 NPT port is from the 'black box'.

What were the end results using the T1 catch can? How much lower were the numbers in comparison to ones in theory?

Those are the results using the catch can, i won't run my car w/o a breather system to get that data. lol

Gotch you. That is some very important data to know, so for us running 30lbs we don't see much compared to you. LOL Thanks Tony!! You rock..

I asked this question before, do you see any diffrence in your last setup too the new one? I know you are using coolant in the new one. See any diffrence?

Go to the top right corner of this page and clink on the "Photo Gallery" and you'll be able to see the Data log.

No difference, this can is the same as the old one, the coolant is in separate compartments, has nothing to do with the catch can.

And no, I won't do a before test. You block off all the breathers on your motor and do a test at this kind of power. lol Make sure you have a fire extinguisher ready for when it blows all the seals on the motor out and the dipstick. There IS crankcase pressure there w/o a breather, that's a known fact.

At 45lbs of boost through a Honda motor you're definately going to see more than 0.1lbs of pressure in the crankcase without a breather setup like that of Tony's

Now if I could only figure out a place to put a T1 catchcan in my engine bay, damn accord.

Makes me wonder how well my setup with 2x -10an lines to a vented can are working.
