Default insurance for a GSR teg

hey. i'm about to pick up a gsr integra. just wondering what the average insurance rate for the gsr is. the search is down, so i had to make this stupid post. also, i know a lot of factors go into the price of insurance, but i'm just trying to get a ball park figure. i got a quoted for $500 deductible for collision/comprehensive for $650 for 6 months. sounds about right?

I have a 00GSR. I am 25 years old, married with absolutely nothing on mine or my wife's driving record. I pay about $200 a month, but I have full coverage, 300k 100k 300k worth of coverage on my gsr, my 1500, and my wife's camery. Our deductible is $250. But our insurance also covers our renters ins. jewlery ins. computer coverage etc.
Hope this helps

Too many variables to really get a good sense of this. Who did you get the quote from?

What I normally do is go to all the websites and get their free quotes, then pick the low ones and call a local agent and see if they can work the prices down a little bit more.

Remember, it never hurts to ask. Just don't beg.

Sounds about right. I'm 23 in the DC area and pay around $200 a month for my Jeep and the GSR. The insurance on the integra is about the same as my old mustang, not sure how.

I pay $1,100 / year to insure my 00 GSR.

Thats with discounts for good driver, multi-car (3 cars for 2 people), multi-policy (renters), theft recovery device (LoJack), garage parking, and "professional" discount (AAA gives engineers a discount which I don't qualify for as a software engineer, but my mechanical engineer gf does).

Everyone is different - age, location, etc. Someone else's amount will not necessarily be what you will pay.

There are websites where you can get insurance quotes - FOR YOU - from many companies, and you don't have to actually own the car yet to get a quote on it. The two biggest are Insweb.com and Insure.com

btw, most of you guys know this but for those of you who don't, if you have an alarm system, even aftermarket, let the insurance people know, sometimes you can get up to 10% off your insurance for it.

All 3 of my last insurance companies (State Farm, Progressive, AAA) laughed when I mentioned an alarm, and told me they're so useless that no discount could be offered for one. They then went on to tell me I would only receive a discount for something that qualified as "theft recovery".

Of course, YMMV depending on location and company.

Now, I actually have no belief that a LoJack would actually work for my GSR, since most of those are stolen by pros who have no issues quickly getting the car underground / in a metal structure and out of the LoJack usable range. But eh, it paid for itself in insurance discounts in under 2 years (dealer discounted purchase).
