I was wondering if anyone knows how I can add the interior dimming/fading dome light feature found on many newer accords?

I have 2 Accords:
98 Accord lx i4 - my main car, with NO dimming dome light (recipient)
&
01 Accord ex i4 - my other car, WITH a dimming dome light (donor car)

To be more specific, when I open the door on my 98, the dome light turns on and when I close the door, the dome light turns off immediately. On the other hand with my 01, when I open the door the light turns on and when I close the door, the dome light gradually dims by fading away till it's off.

I have all parts from my 01 ready to be swapped, so how can I add this feature to my 98?

Any help would be appreciated!

 

As a cheap way you could just use a capacitor?

 

Thanks for the reply and I have read up on use the circuit method. But I was hoping that someone here might know where this "dimmer/fading controller" might be located so I can just do a swap from my 01 to 98.

 

Yeah I wish I could be of more help. My EX and DX both go out instantly in the 94-97 chassis.

If you really wanted it the capacitor like I said would slowly discharge from being fully charged giving you the desired effect.
