Alright problems with my EF Hatch

Default Alright problems with my EF Hatch

I just dropped a D16 z6 motor in my EF and I have the OBD0 to OBD1 engine harness, I have OBD0 to OBD1 jump harness for the ECU, Im running a P28 computer Stock and a OBD1 Vtec distributor. My car Idles fine but everytime I rev up to 2k rpm the shuts off any ideas as to what is going on thanks

my friend had the same problem
i belive the tps n the map were wiried wrong
or were both bad
dont quote me on this but thats wat i belive was wrong wit his hatch

Well the MAP is good we checked it already, I havent tested for any codes yet because took the whole wiring harness out but I just found out that it might be the crank sensor would that be possible or am I not thinking of anything

sounds like your ecu is in limp mode. i always thought it was 3k it limited at though, not 2... odd.

also how do you propose you hook it up to a scanner... you don't have an obd1 diagnostic port lol. if your car is a 88-89 then there is a 2 pin service port by the driver-side shock tower which you need to short, and in doing so the ecu will start spilling codes. you'll be able to read them by the amount of flashes you see from the cel on your gauge cluster. if your car is a 90-91 the same applies, the service connector however is located at the bottom right-hand side of the glovebox.

and yea its a stupid thing that i guess sometimes occurs, but make sure the tps and map are not switched. they are right next to eachother and the connectors themselves are identical.

or you could just turn your key 2 clicks and get the code from the ecu the easy way.
