you should be able to install it with the car on the ground, unless your teg didn't come with the mounting studs.

I knew I saw this somewhere, interestingly, though...Neuspeed says to have the car on all fours on level ground. This is what Tanabe has to say about installation.

Keep in mind. Neuspeed's aren't adjustable...they're solid construction, where as Tanabe is adjustable...which could make the difference. However, to argue this point. I have a Neuspeed Shock tower bar and I tried to install while car is on the ground and it made installation difficult. with the front end up, it was much easier.

A very common error when installing tower bars, It is always recommended to raise the vehicle when installing so that the load of the shock uppermounts on the shock towers is relieved and balanced out. When raised, and the tower bar is placed onto the vehicle, the preload can be adjusted and set. After it is bolted on and the car is lowered, each shock tower will have equal load and will prevent independent movements of each shock. This will provide an extremely noticeable difference after installing. If a tower bar is installed on a car that is not raised, great benefits will be missed

I had an issue with the Neuspeed bar where it would cram the PS high pressure line against the valve cover and after so many years of the motor rocking back and forth, it wore a hole in the PS line. The fluid emptied from the hole and killed the pump.

Some bars can give you a tough time on install when it's on all-fours, but most go on without a hitch. To save the hassle, I usually just jack up the front end before I put one on anyway.
