Default ASR SUBFRAME BRACE KITS for TYPE R

I want to get one for my Type R. Does anyone know if the one for the DC's work? Do they bolt on to the Type R subframes? Thanks in advance!

no they wont work , subframes are different, theres no need for one anyway, the itr's rear subframe is beefed up from the factory

Looks like an Apex'i World Sport II.

The ASR Subframe for the ITR, they're more for looks. They served a purpose for those with the GSR and GS LS RS chassis.

^^^^^ maybe spoon street muffler? Tip looks big to be spoon though. Could also be tanabe g power.

ASR makes a Type R specific sway bar kit that other members on here have put on their cars.

Anyone have pics?

X2 there is really no need. Original ITR subframe has reinforcement in certain key areas. An ASR would look ridiculous- unless your trying to upgrade to a 32mm hollow bar, then I'd totally look into it brah!

ya anyone know? if the stock itr sub can handle a 32mm+ hollow sway?

asr makes a few diff size bars besides the 32. i know they got a killa 24mm bar with three notches on it to make it stiffer or softer

You can also order a different inner wall thickness with the 32mm bar.

the reason they made the asr subrame brace is because the rear subframe is weak as **** so the brace is there to make it stronger. the type r is already built to handle a sway bar that large and maybe larger. no need for the brace while it does look cool though

I think I'd sneak braces under the front fenders before I resorted to a visible subframe brace in the rear.

In 1997, we could say that the DC2 ITR had a strong subframe and a relatively stiff chassis.

In 2009, maybe we have to face the fact that, compared to newer chassis, maybe the competition oriented DC2 cars might need a little help.

I think the rear subframe brace might do some good, but it depends on how far you've gone with everything else whether or not it makes sense for you to get one.

he makes sense. personally i like mine but just outta alignments and such so the oversteer can get you if your not paying attention. first hand exp the sway bar does make it super stiff in the rear, inducing oversteer isnt that hard

We're still talking about type Rs here right? Still the best handling FWD performance car ever made. No need for this dumb bling. This place has gone silly since the changeover. Logic and reasoning are gone.

X2!!

Personally, I don't think you can even throw on a ASR brace on the rear subframe of an itr. I looked at mine along time ago and there is no way. Plus it would look ridiculous especially with the "ASR+BEAKS" combo=Overkill/Ricer!

How about a gsr with ITR LCAs? Does anyone think I can use the ASR subframe with a type r 22mm sway bar?

Yeah, the subframe is what the brace strengthens... what type of LCA's you use has no bearing on the brace.
