Default JDM B16a intake manifold - Same as type R intake manifold???

I'm thinking of buying a Drag turbo kit from a friend of mine, but I have a GSR and his is a type R. He said the only fitment issue is that the intake plumbing wont line up with a GSR manifold, but if I buy a type R intake manifold then it will fit. I came across this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1369741084
Think it will work???

B16/ITR intake manifolds don't bolt to GSR heads.

Get a Skunk2 intake manifold if you want a single stage intake plenum.

So if I buy the skunk 2 manifold do you think it would bolt up to the type R turbo pipes? I don't see how it would since skunk2 makes seperate manifolds for the GSR and TypeR.

Yes, it would.

They make different manifolds because the bolt pattern is different.

Hmmm....what doesn't make sense to me is why Skunk 2 would make the ITR and GSR intake manifolds the same dimensions (excluding the bolt pattern) when the stock manifolds are different dimensions to begin with. So basically what you are telling me is that if I buy a GSR turbo kit for my GSR and try to bolt it up to a skunk 2 intake manifold it won't fit because GSR skunk 2 intake manifolds are made for ITR turbo kits???? Sorry if I sound like a dick I'm just trying to figure out what the hell is going on.

The only reason Skunk2 intake manifolds exist is because GSR owners wanted to install ITR intake manifolds on their cars, but it wasn't a straight bolt-on.

There's no point getting a Skunk2 intake manifold if you have a B16 style head. I'd get the ITR over the Skunk2 any day.

So basically what you are telling me is that if I buy a GSR turbo kit for my GSR and try to bolt it up to a skunk 2 intake manifold it won't fit because GSR skunk 2 intake manifolds are made for ITR turbo kits????
The ITR and GSR have their T/B's in different positions due to their different intake manifold designs. The Skunk2 GSR intake manifold is a copy of the ITR intake manifold, and hence moves the T/B to the same location as it would be on an ITR.

Therefore if you have a GSR with a Skunk2 intake manifold and you want to buy a part that bolts onto the T/B, you should get the parts designed for the ITR.
