Default Forgot backing plate on front brakes

As the title states, I just changed my girlfriends brakes for her and once I got done, I realized I forgot to put on one of the backing plates for the brake pad. Should I take it back apart to replace this plate? Will it cause premature wear on the brake pads/rotors if I do not? After just doing the brakes, I could probably replace it in about 30 minutes, but if it isn't necessary I do not want to bother with it.

This is on a 2001 Civic if it matters.

Thanks!

Are you talking about the shim? If so, it's not going to f anything up, but you might get some brake noise if you didn't lube it properly.

Yea, I'm talking about the thin metal plate that goes on the back of the brake pad. She has been complaining about it still squeaking, but I haven't driven it to see if it's the wheel I forgot to put it on.

If it's still squeaking, just might as well take everything apart and properly lube the pads and anti-rattle clips

No they're ceramic pads with Brembo Blank rotors. I took them back apart this morning, and found out there were shims behind all 4 pads. Apparently there were 2 shims behind one of the pads, I put it back where it came from and 20 miles later the squeak is still gone. I guess we'll see.
