Default Civic is turning off on the highway

Ok so about 2 months ago i replaced my stock d15b8 in my 1992 civic cx with a 1999 d16y7(running the d15b8 p05 stock ecu as well like an idiot) well about 3 weeks ago i was on the highway doing about 80mph my car suddenly lost power and started choking out and turned off. Tried to start it again and nothing, decided to check my fuse box under the hood and my 15amp ecu fuse had blown? Was really weird but i put a new fuse in (luckily i keep spares) and drove the rest of the way home. And so over the last week its been happening every time im on the highway, but at about 65 mph i can drive all day long without a problem, but as soon as i speed up to about 80 mph, just like before my car shuts off and my ecu fuse blows. Checked for loose grounds and havent found any, even bought a p06(16 valve nonvtec) ecu and tried it out and same thing. I know my car was running a bit lean with the old p05 ecu but could that have been whats causing my car to do this all of the sudden? Oh and btw im throwing code 14(IACV) and 41(Heated oxygen sensor heater??).

Sorry for the long read and any help is greatly appreciated.

-Ryan

never heard of a "heated oxygen sensor heater" code...not sure what that is, but you could start by replacing your o2 sensor and cleaning your IACV....a dirty IACV can cause the motor to bog. How's your mpg?

i would fix the CEL's and see if it still does it. not sure how either could cause your problem but they need to be fixed anyway.

Yes, but what HitF8 said was reset your codes.

Take the fuse out, (forget which, but its under the hood on My 93 Sol) count to 20 and put it back in. Drive the car for a few mins (up to 20 some say) and watch for codes.

THEN start changing parts if its still throwing them.

(I should have thought of that too, but its really early, or late, I forget)

lol so i finally found out what my problem has been this whole time. and now i officially feel like the biggest noob on the planet...i suddenly remembered all this had started happening after i had let my friend paint my valve cover....turns out i didnt even notice the fact that he had painted right over the motor ground! lol so i squired a bit of paint remover around the ground, wiped it off, then cruised on the interstate at about 110 and felt like a new man lol. thanks for everyone who attempted to help me!

grounds always start by checkin the grounds. 110 sounds a little much.
