Hi, I'm new here and i'm not sure if there is a tranny thread or what not, but I was wandering if any one has a write up on replacing synchros or gears? I have a b16 that needs and new synchro and I want to put an Ls 5th gear in it? Any help would def. be appreciated! Again if this isn't the right spot then can some one redirect me so I don't bother any one, thanks.

out of curiosity, why do you want to put an LS 5th gear in your b16 tranny? Do you do alot of highway driving? And sorry I don't know the first thing on how to rebuild a tranny. If your looking for shorter gears, but not be at 7k at 80mph why not look into a gsr tranny?

 

Yes everytime I leave y house i'm on the highway. With a b16 trans i'm in vtec with gsr i'm not, but gsr is just a little longer then I want, I would rather the all short gears 1st-4th for a nice all motor set up and the ls 5th for when i'm chilling around town or on the interstate which is most important! I know it's been done many times before here in Florida. ALso I have a good b16 trans and a bad ls trans, so there for I can make the trans Iwant vs. buying a gsr one. I would like to be a little different you know. Anyways If anyone can give me some help on building a tranny will def. help. Anything I need to know would be great. Pics of which synchro is 2nd gear synchro and which gear is 5th, etc. thanks
