Default Will a 1998 Civic Si INTAKE fit on a D16Y7?

Quick question:
Buying stock intake for my D16Y7, will one pulled from a 1998 SI fit? Not sure if this is the American Si or Ex, will either fit?

Yes? No?

doubt it due to the design the IM is designed on the d16y7 is WAY diff from the Si model in Canada, Ex in the US. Just either get a y8 head and then youll kill 2 birds with one stone, ull be able to have ur Si intake and vtec [with the proper wiring]

hope that helps

ummm no...a y7's intake manifold is the size of a pencil compared to that of a b16. eaby is your friend when it comes to intakes, or just pull one from a junkyard.

no a SI's intake manifold will not fit. different motor series as it is a b-series. you can swap out manifolds from other d-series engines though. the d16y8 IM being popular among the d-series.

He's from Canada saying it's a 1998 Si. So it should obviously be our (US) EX. Either way, it's still a no. Unless you do some Home Depot type thing.

oh if that's the case. then yeh, you can. i don't know what you are talking about, but it's a fairly simple swap.

*EDIT: he's talking about INTAKES okay nvm. just get yourself a d16y8 IM and youll be good.

The OP is in Canada, the Si is refering to has a D16Y8 and is pretty much a rebadged EX coupe. And no it wont work, due to the fact the Y7 intakes point straight up and the Y8s are sideways. You could however get an automatic Y8 manifold and then use the intake, its important to use an automatic Y8 manifold btw, even if its going on a manual Y7 otherwise you will have IACV issues.

and if you get a manual one, all you have to do is plug up the IACV port in the back of the IM and switch out your y7 TB to the y8 IM.

u could rig it to fit. d16y7 has a vertical throttle body and d16y8 has normal throttle body.
