People say the koni yellows are better then the kyb agx, is this just because the koni's are stiffer? Also I like the fact that there are preset numbered positions on the ***, the koni's don't have this, they have no preset points of stiffness. Thats how my friends koni yellow's are for his 3 series.

There seem to be many valid reasons that people have for prefering konis.
I am in a jam because I need shocks, but can't afford koni's. Yet everyone says to get the konis.

Because of the way the koni's have their stiffness setting **** like that, it allows you to really set it to whatever you want more precisely.

Tokico Illuminas seem to be a favorite among others who can't afford koni yellows. They're like 400 something and are 5-way adjustable.

I love my AGX!!! But I almost never adjust them anymore. 3 front, 4 rear...it works to rid of understeer!

Im in the same situation. Do Koni Red's hold the same repuations as the Yellow's, just lacking the ability to adjust them??

no, but you get used to it. And actually, the roads here suck. I have fun dodging potholes and I avoid certain streets that are totally unacceptable. It's nice to know your suspension is nice and stiff if you get the urge to have a little fun on the way home from work. I also keep my kumhos at 40 psi, which is pretty hard too. I just hope my car doesn't rattle to pieces.

It's on the top just like the KYB AGX's.

yup the adjustment is on top for KYB and Koni... w/ the KYB you insert the little supplied screwdriver to turn it to 1-4 whatever setting you desire.. w/ the Koni's they supply an adjustment **** w/ the Koni logo and an arrow towards which way is firm and you adjust it to your liking.. I have Koni yellows myself... installed a couple sets of KYB's...

naw most of the installs I've done w/ KYB's were w/ H&R OE or Sports, and Eibach Pro-kits... on my own car I used Eibach sportline springs and Koni Yellows.. had this setup for several yrs (had springs over 6 yrs.. and shocks for over 3 yrs..what can I say.. I was still in college and couldn't afford to do it both at once )... my friend recently installed Skunk 2's on his car w/ AGX's.. but since its still new.. dunno how long they'll last...
