the taillights for the 96-98 has amber, white, and red. the 99-00 has just red and white.

Cupholders are better in the 96-98 models, it's actually the 96-97 that have the ultra useful hatch release lever right by the gas door. Like the last person said, taillights.

I heard the 99-00 also had height adjustable seats. My 98 came with GSR's, so i'm not sure.

the front end is different, the climate control, the hatch release, and the 99-00's are PIGS!! They weigh a ton more than the 96-98's. I wanted a 99 because of the tailight and front end, but i got a 97 instead and i couldnt be happier!!!

couldn't you swap out the tail-lamps from the 99-00 civic ek.

the front-end is doable, but alot of money.

a friend wreck his civic a few years ago, his uncle own a paint/body shop.

he decicde to go with the '99-'00 civic front-end. however, you have to change the whole front-core supports and brackets.

Do you really have to change out the core support for this conversion? I was under the impression that just the fenders bumper cover, hood, and grill were the only parts to change out.

That's what I thought.

Now, will the 99-00 tails swap directly over to a 96-98 without modification?

my .02

my car 98 cx hatch
it has no trunk release but i got it hooked up to my power windows through the lock/unlock switch on the driver door and alarm so theres no problem there. that means there is a handle on the back to open the hatch.
i also did a 99-00 front end conversion, no radiator support needed, all you need to do is a little trimming of the front bumper and you can't even see where it is cut. the only thing i hate about a 96-98 is the climate control

voltron: were you at the little jdmcivic.com meet a while back? i think it was you there with the bronze racing harts?

One more thing if anyone cares, the wiring harnesses changed. We found out the hard way when taking my buddies ITR swap out of his 97 Civic and dropping it into my 99.

Where does the extra 150 lbs come from? Is it the different front end?

Here's to finding out the hard way. I did that too when I swapped my gsr motor in. <--only way to keep sane while learning the hard way.

Can somebody tell me what is up with this guy? I am not trying to start a flame war, but everytime he posts, he is arrogantly putting somebody down. In this statement, he is putting everyone in this forum down.

C'mon man, this is Honda-Tech, not the streets of DC. Try to be civil.
