Poof! - Post Deleted
I got a few emails this week saying the Control Arm tire wear post I participated in was updated. Then suddenly the link in the emails no longer existed. What happended? Do posts get deleted if they become a little too negative towards Honda or it's dealerships?
Here is one I got this week:

I had the arms replaced and 4 wheel alignment for free at 55,000 miles. It is DEFINITELY about who you meet. I had a positive experience (for once) at Earnhardt Honda in Phoenix. I got two new tires, abs recall thing done, control arm replaced, 4 wheel alignment and a wash...oh yeah plus a free rental car for the day while they did the repairs...all from Earnhardts. Go Tex!
I didn't get an update that you posted here so this is a 3 month old response. Let me know how it goes for you.

I paid cash for a Honda Civic 06 EX in 2006. My wife drives it on the Hwy only. She normally gets 80,000 on tires. I brought it back to the dealer before it went out of the one year warranty. I told the owner of the dealership that there was a problem and that it was all over the internet and I gave him some copies of the internet articles which had already been posted in early 2007. He scoffed at me and treated me like an ***. I have since put on a second set of expensive tires and of course they are cupped already after just 15,000 miles and three rotations. I have not received any notices about recalls of any type for this problem. I maintain nine cars and have never had such a problem. I WILL NEVER, NEVER, NEVER BUY A HONDA AGAIN AND I TELL EVERYONE I SEE ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE. I will end up buying a Skunk2 rear camber kit and taking care of the problem. The kit ($300) plus the tires have cost me over $900. I am not going to go and beg the owner of this dealership nor am I going to play the proof game with Honda, it is not my responsibility to take care of Honda's problems. I have kept the original set of tires and I show everyone who visits me the results of buying a Honda. I talk with hundreds of people each year and I show many of the the pictures of my tires to make sure they understand why not to buy a Honda.
Mad is not the word, $900 and a lot of work. If I had been notified of a recall and they had fixed it after looking at the tires, I would have been fine. People make mistakes, and problems occur. But to be in denial and to look at the tires and think that everyone is stupid is beyond me. I have been to three alignment shops and they all told me the same story, Hondas do that. They all told me the same fix, get the Skunk2 rear camber kit. I work 18 hours a day and I make mistakes, but when I make
mistakes like this, I try to rectify them as soon as possible. I work on all my cars and trucks. I have 5 GMs, 1 Ford, 1 Dodges,1Toyato, and the Honda. All have their own problems when working on them, but none have such a glaring factory defect which the company is not willing to fix immideatly. My wife loves the car with the exception of the visor which falls down even after it was fixed durning the first year, and the tires which we can't afford to live with at this time. Her last car was a Nissian Maxima which she drove for 210,000 miles without ever having a problem. I had purchased a water pump which I was going to change, but someone ran into her and destroyed the car. To change the water pump you have to disengage the motor mount and jack the engine up before you take off the chain cover replace chain etc. It takes three or four hours of hard work to change the pump and chain, but it is not a factory defect, and you dont have to deal with it every thirty thousand miles. When we buy again, it will probably be a Nissian.

"Oh shoot, there's Will, the guy that won't STFU about his damn tires....quick look away...aww damn it here he comes. He's already getting out his wallet."
You obviously don't maintain your cars very well if you didn't notice the terrible tire wear before it got too bad to be fixed by Honda. The dealership has a TSB from Honda that they are to follow. If you tire is too worn, or not worn enough, they can't fix it. Blaiming someone else for not noticing how bad your own tires are worn is pretty lame.
I see you don't own an 06 or 07 Honda which explains everything. Listen to me. When you go to the dealer and show him the tires and tell him the facts and the hundreds of blogs about the same thing and he denies everything, everything, you have very little recourse. THERE IS NO TSB IN THE USA for this problem. Look it up and get the facts, it does not exist. I only hope you buy a car and find out that Honda just denies the facts. Go to your local alignment shop and ask about these Hondas. Put one up on the rack of a reputable alignment specialist and let them tell you that they can't adjust the camber to where it will not eat the tires very quickly. I don't care if you rotate your tires every five thousand miles, they will be eaten in 15,000 miles. If that sounds good to you, then you have more money and time than I do. As for my situation, I am starting legal proceedings and will call the media into this situation shortly. You'll be suprised how many unhappy 06 and 07 owners are
are going to come out of the woodwork. When Honda gets enough publicity, perhaps they will do something.

D-Bag...my sister has an '06 Civic EX (that she bought used in '07 sometime) and her car had the same problem. Thankfully for her, I do all of the maintenance on her car, and noticed the uneven tirewear very early; too early in fact for the TSB to go into effect. Honda sent us away the first time we showed it to them, and then the TSB came out. When the tire wear fell into the parameters of the Honda TSB (which I had on my computer), we brought it back, and they replaced the control arms (which are causing the tire wear) and they also replaced all four of my sisters tires for free. My family has a very good relationship with our dealer, but I've known of a couple other people in this area that have received the fix without a problem.
